It’s no secret that towing cars is hard work. Unfortunately, sometimes drivers can make it even more difficult on us, either out of spite, or simply thinking it’s going to make us give up.
The Curb and Turn
If a car is parked directly up against a curb, it makes it next to impossible to tow it from that side. It doesn’t mean that they’re in the clear; just that you’re going to have to get creative. And if the wheels are turned, it’s not getting out of there without a flatbed.
Wheels on Lockdown
Having the parking brake on is only going to slow you down, which is frustrating, but it isn’t the end of the world. Worse yet is when they put a club on the steering wheel. Again, not an impossibility, but it is a wrench thrown into the mix.
And if they have 4-LO drive engaged, you better hide the swear jar. That thing isn’t going anywhere without a fight.
The Parallel Parker
Some people think that because they’re between a rock and a hard place they’re safe. And while this isn’t true, it certainly makes it that much harder to yank them out. If you have a side-facing towing platform, you’re in luck; otherwise, you’re going to have to get a little creative.
